The Festival will attract a huge spectrum of audiences from England and across the globe.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

What kind of films will I see?
The festival shows independent narrative features, documentaries, and shorts from around the world. We promise that these aren't the Hollywood films at the local multiplex. These are independent films that you may not have the opportunity to see anywhere else. Many will have their world premiere with The Bram Stoker International Film Festival.

How do you choose the films you show?
Filmmakers will submit their films to the festival. Every submission is viewed by at least three members of the Program Committee, and films are invited to the festival at the discretion of the Program Director.

How many films play in the Festival?
Approximately 30 features.

What awards are given out at the Festival?
The following awards will be presented at the festival:
Best Picture
Best Short
Best Director
Best Effects
Best Script..
..and a special Lifetime Achievement Award.

A horror, thriller or sci-fi feature film over 55 minutes in length.

Short Film

Any horror, thriller or sci-fi film under 30 minutes in length.

Rules for Film makers and Production company's

1. Dates and Venue

The Bram Stoker International Film Festival 2012 will take place on October 25th -28th 2012. The absolute final submission deadline is 20th August 2012. Spa Pavilion, Whitby, England

2. Bram Stoker Awards

The Festival reserves the right to place entries into alternative categories. Each submission must be entered separately. Entries will be assessed and successful submissions will be programmed for screening and entered in the Festival competition. Failure to submit a screener copy by September 10th 2012 will rule out eligibility for an award and or screening at the festival. The Award categories are posted on our web site, you may be interested in viewing previous winners.

3. Formats

For the selection process acceptable formats: DVD. For successful submissions that are granted a screening: DVD, Blu-Ray and possibly digital format

4. Selection

The Festival is managed on behalf of Ironopolis Media Ltd. The Festival directors and or their representatives reserve the right to invite films for the competition and programme. The screening schedule will be announced after the final submission deadline. The final award winning entries will be selected by a Festival jury and audience votes. Award winners will be notified within 21 days of the festival screenings, in their absence.

5. Entry Returns

We do not return entries.

6. Screenings

It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that films for screening are deposited with the Festival organisers at least 30 days before any scheduled screening.

7. Publicity

We reserve the right to use extracts from submissions for festival publicity, news, media, radio and marketing purposes. Press kits and posters will be required.

8. Legal

As an entrant you must have full permission of the producers, legal and copyright owners. The Bram Stoker International Film Festival shall not be responsible for any screenings or entries made without permission. The programme and schedule is final and at the discretion of the directors of the film festival.

9. FEES

Entry fees are priced at £25.00 up to the 1st of June 2012. Entries after this date will be charged at £30.00 until deadline close. Entries are made by clicking HERE

What else do I need to know?

Seating is available at all performances on a first-come, first-served basis. No late seating. We strongly recommend that you arrive at the theatre 30 minutes prior to each screening to get in the ticket holders line. All programs are subject to change without notice. No refunds or exchanges can be given, except in the case of program cancellation. All films will be shown in their original language with English subtitles, unless otherwise noted.
All audience members must leave the theatre following each screening. Leaving belongings and/or saving seats between shows is not allowed. Please do not leave empty seats in the middle of a row.
Cameras and recording devices are not permitted in the theatre. Please silence all mobile phones, pagers and watches when in the theatre.

How do I purchase tickets or passes to a screening?
Festival passes and tickets will be available Feb 15th 2011.

Will some films that have played in past festivals be allowed?

Festival and Box Office & Theatre Policies

NO EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
QUANTITIES ARE LIMITED AND MAY SELL OUT AT ANY TIME.
A maximum of four Tickets may be purchased per person, per screening.

Film length, as listed in the schedule, represents the best available information at press time and is for your convenience only. Length of film does not include film introductions or Q&A sessions following the screening. Programs and schedules are subject to change without notice.

Festival Pass holders MUST present their Passes with a ticket when entering a venue.

Passes must be worn visibly in all festival venues (including screenings, panels, and parties).

Vouchers are not tickets, but must be exchanged for a film ticket.

Pass holders will be admitted to screenings first and are guaranteed seats up to 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled start of that screening.

Ticket holders are guaranteed a seat only until ten minutes before the scheduled start of the screening.

No entry permitted fifteen minutes after the scheduled start of any screening.

All customers must leave the cinema and lobby following each screening.

Bags are subject to inspection.

No refunds or exchanges. In case of cancellation of screening, return ticket to point of purchase.

Cameras and recording devices are strictly prohibited in theatres. It is illegal to make a copy of a film without permission of the copyright owner. The Bram Stoker International Film Festival reserves the right to undertake anti-piracy measures, expel anyone recording or photographing anything in the theatre and confiscate pirated materials.

Our invaluable and experienced staff and volunteers will be recruited from far and wide to ensure the best possible Festival experience for all. The Bram Stoker International Film Festival will not tolerate mistreatment of its staff or volunteers of any kind and will take measures accordingly.

All Festival Venues are Wheelchair Accessible.

Please note that the majority of festival films are not rated. We urge parents to exercise discretion. Infants and toddlers are not permitted at any screening or panel. We reserve the right to create age restrictions for films as necessary.

Customers are limited to holding space in rush lines for a maximum of two individuals, including themselves. Please inform the Festival Staff person at the Rush Line if you are holding a place for another individual.

Please do not leave empty seats in the middle of the row. Rush seating is less disruptive to the rest of the audience if empty seats are available on the aisles. Standing at the back of the auditorium or sitting in the aisle is not permitted due to the Fire /emergency codes.

1. Tickets are sold subject to the festivals right to make any alterations to the advertised time, programme or film as a result of circumstances beyond their control, without being obliged to refund the monies or exchange tickets.
2. Tickets may only be refunded at the discretion of the Festival Management if there is substantial alteration to the content or the Festival being cancelled. The total amount of any refund is limited to the face value of the ticket(s). No other refunds will be given.
3. If a performance is cancelled ticket holders will first be offered alternative performances (subject to availability) up to the seat value on the ticket.
4. Every member of the audience, including children and babes in arms, must be in possession of a valid ticket, which must be produced to gain entry to the Spa Pavilion.
5. Any complaints shall be made to the Festival Manager promptly either before or during the performance.
6. If tickets are resold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the Festival Management, Producer or one of their authorised agents, then they will become void and the holder may be refused entry or ejected from the venue.
7. Latecomers will be admitted to the auditorium when a suitable break in the performance occurs but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
8. In the interest of other patrons, parents with children are reminded they may be asked to remove any consistently noisy children. Age restrictions for children may apply due to the nature and suitability of the show as advised by the box office.
9. If a patron behaves in a violent or obnoxious manner or in a way that may cause danger to others through for example alcohol, the Management can request that the patron leaves the Spa Pavilion and will take appropriate action to enforce this right.
10. The use of recording equipment of any kind is prohibited. Unauthorised recordings will be confiscated and cancelled.
11. The Festival Management reserves the right to refuse admission in reasonable circumstances.
12. Mobile phones, pagers, digital watches, laser pens or any other electronic equipment should be disabled when inside the Spa Pavilion to avoid disturbing the cast and other patrons.
13. Smoking and the consumption of personal food and drink are not permitted in the Spa Pavilion.
14. Security searches may be conducted to ensure the safety of all patrons and your co-operation would be appreciated in assisting with their speedy execution. All patrons shall comply with the venue’s safety regulations.
15. All ticket holders consent to the filming and sound recording of themselves as members of the audience.
16. Neither the venue management nor the Festival producers accept responsibility for the loss or damage to any personal property. The Festival manager will hold any items handed in. 17. Tickets may be restricted to a maximum number per person, we reserve the right to cancel tickets purchased in excess of this number.
18. The ticket holder only has a right to a seat to the value corresponding to that stated on the ticket and the management reserves the right to provide alternative seats to those stated on the ticket.
19. English law and jurisdiction shall exclusively govern all the terms and conditions.
